Philadelphia Eagles star expected to miss multiple weeks
Philadelphia Eagles injuries are still a problem.
tight end Dallas Goedert is expected to miss a few weeks following a hamstring injury he sustained during Sunday’s victory over the Cleveland Browns, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Following the Eagles’ opening offensive series, Goedert exited the game and did not come back.
Eagles head coach Sirianni told The Inquirer, “Dallas is ultra-tough.” “Dallas Goedert is the one who can return to the game sooner than you might think.”
When wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith were both injured, Jalen Hurts looked to Goedert as his top option. In the Eagles’ Week 3 victory over the Saints in New Orleans, Goedert had 10 receptions for 170 receiving yards. In the subsequent week’s defeat against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the tight end managed seven receptions for 62 yards.
In his seven seasons with the Eagles, it’s safe to say that Goedert has been prone to injuries. It was during his debut season in 2018 that he made his only appearance in every game.
Since then, among other problems, he has missed numerous games over his career because of a fractured forearm, a slight shoulder fracture, and a concussion.
Goedert is projected to miss several weeks, thus Grant Calcaterra and Jack Stoll, two tight ends, will see the most of the playing time.
After Goedert was hurt against the Browns, Calcaterra ended up playing the best game of his inexperienced career. Including a 34-yard reception, the third-year tight end finished the game with four catches for 67 yards.
Not just Goedert is hurting on the attacking end of the ball. Jordan Mailata, the starting left tackle, is also slated to miss a few weeks due to a hamstring issue.
In Week 7, the Eagles take on the New York Giants.
