
VERMILLION, S.D. (KCAU) – South Dakota Coyotes RB Travis Theis has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft, per his social media.
The Second Team AFCA All-American started in all but one game for the ‘Yotes this season, putting up a career-high 1,172 rush yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground. Theis compiled 3,666 rushing yards over six seasons, becoming the program’s career rush yards leader.
The Pratt, Kansas native also holds the record for all-time rushing touchdowns in South Dakota’s FCS Quarterfinal win against UC Davis.
The University of South Dakota football program announced it has promoted defensive coordinator Travis Johansen to head coach after Bob Nielson stepped down to retire on Thursday.
The 2024 season saw Johansen lead a defensive unit that ranked in the top 10 in scoring defense and top 20 in rushing defense.
