Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla with Jayson Tatum are trending on twitter over…………………..

Mark Ahearn, born in 1986, coincidentally the last year the Boston Celtics clinched an NBA championship until this recent victory, doesn’t recall the glory days of Larry Bird and the iconic Celtics winning their first title. However, having witnessed recent championships from the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots, he’s thrilled to see the Celtics join the winners’ circle.

Expressing his excitement, the 22-year-old resident of Whitman remarked, “It’s definitely thrilling to see the Celtics step up. No one enjoys being the least impressive team on the block.”

Ahearn was just one of the many fans, primarily hailing from the South Shore, who gathered in downtown Boston on Thursday to celebrate the newly crowned NBA champions. The city’s streets were flooded with tens of thousands of fans as players, Celtics legends, and team executives paraded through in 16 World War II-era amphibious “duck boats.” The sea of green-clad enthusiasts, with face paint, hair dye, and Celtics attire, reveled in the victory.

Leading the parade was Paul Pierce, proudly showcasing the NBA Finals MVP trophy, prompting chants of “MVP! MVP!” from the ecstatic crowd. Ray Allen, part of the revered “Big Three” alongside Kevin Garnett, followed suit, initiating a spirited “Let’s go Boston!” chant that resonated among the fans.

The morning’s Red Line trains were packed, with approximately 70 percent of passengers visibly celebrating the region’s latest professional sports triumph – the Boston Celtics’ 17th NBA championship, making them the most decorated team in league history.

As fans emerged above ground, they were greeted by near-perfect skies and a sea of green. Celtic jerseys adorned supporters, ranging from the jerseys of past and present stars like Garnett and Larry Bird to those of lesser-known former players like Vin Baker and Xavier McDaniel.
