BREAKING: Indiana’s Trey Galloway in Street Clothes, Won’t Play in Big Ten Tournament

Indiana senior guard Trey Galloway is out again, forced to miss Friday’s Big Ten Tournament game with a knee injury. He was in street clothes for pregame warmups and sources say he will not play all weekend if Indiana advances.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Indiana senior guard Trey Galloway will miss his second straight game with a knee injury when the No. 6-seeded Hoosiers take on No. 3 seed Nebraska in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament.

If Indiana can advance in the tournament here at the Target Center, Galloway won’t be able to play at all this weekend. The even runs through Sunday, with two semifinal. games on Saturday and the championship game on Sunday.

Galloway, a senior from Culver, Ind., started all 31 regular season games, but was forced to miss the Thursday night tournament opener, a 61-59 win over Penn State. He injured the knee in warmups last Sunday in the home finale against Michigan State. He started anyway against the Spartans and played through some pain, scoring five early points. But he came out after seven minutes and never returned.

Sources told HoosiersNow.com that Galloway has a meniscus injury that will require postseason surgery. If Indiana, which has won five straight games, can stay hot and somehow make the NCAA Tournament, the team has not ruled out him staying to play.
