NFL star Terry McLaurin is engaged!
The Washington Commanders wide receiver, 28, popped the question to girlfriend Caitlin Winfrey. McLaurin announced the happy news on Instagram while sharing a series of photos of the proposal, which took place at the Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory in Florida.
“I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with the person who has my heart. Caitlin, I thank God for granting me favor and bringing our journey’s together,” he wrote in the post’s caption.
“I am so excited to see what he has in store for us as we navigate this life hand and hand,” he continued. “Home is wherever you are and I’m at my best when I’m with you. I love you❤️.”
In one of the photos, the athlete could be seen down on one knee in front of Winfrey on a pathway amid the colorful gardens at the conservatory. Other shots captured the couple arriving at a beach via a small boat where they posed together at sunset.
McLaurin’s teammates and NFL friends filled the comments section with congratulatory messages for the couple. Atlanta Falcons quarterback Taylor Heinicke wrote, “Congrats homie!” Meanwhile, New York Giants wide receiver Parris Campbell commented, “Congrats bro!!!!”
Back in March, McLaurin wrote a touching tribute to his now-fiancée in honor of her birthday, expressing how grateful he feels to have her by his side.

I feel like I can do anything because of your love and support. I love you for this life and the next.”

“Happy birthday Love, I’m truly thankful for you and the role you’ve played in my life..” he told Winfrey. “Simply put, I’m better because of you. I pray that this year you receive everything you deserve and that God blesses you beyond your biggest dreams. I love you ❤️.”
McLaurin was picked by the Commanders in the third round of the 2019 NFL Draft and signed a three-year-contract with the team. He inked a three-year, $71-million extension to his contract last year, according to ESPN.
After an impressive 141-yard performance in Week 15 during his team’s matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, McLaurin is just 165 receiving yards away from clinching his fourth-consecutive season of surpassing the 1,000-yard mark.
