I call it ”stepping on higher ground”, LA Rams head coach Sean McVay as he submits resignation letter
**Resignation Letter of Sean McVay, Head Coach of the LA Rams**
Dear Les Snead,
I write to you today with a heavy heart but a clear mind. After much contemplation and reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as the Head Coach of the Los Angeles Rams, effective immediately. This decision has not come easily, as my tenure with this organization has been nothing short of extraordinary. However, I believe it is time for me to take a step back and prioritize other aspects of my life that have been neglected during my time in the demanding role of head coach.
When I first joined the Rams, I was filled with excitement and determination. The opportunity to lead such a talented group of players and coaches was a dream come true. Together, we achieved great success on the field, culminating in a Super Bowl victory that will forever be etched in my memory. These accomplishments would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the entire organization, for which I am deeply grateful.
As I reflect on my journey with the Rams, I am reminded of the countless hours of hard work and dedication that have been poured into this team. From early morning practices to late-night strategy sessions, every moment has been a testament to the commitment and passion of everyone involved. It is this dedication that has made the Rams not just a team, but a family.
However, despite our successes, I have come to realize that success on the field is not the only measure of a fulfilling life. As much as I love the game of football and cherish the relationships I have built within the organization, I have come to understand the importance of balance. Over the years, I have sacrificed time with my loved ones and neglected personal interests in pursuit of excellence on the field. While I do not regret these sacrifices, I believe it is time for me to prioritize my personal well-being and explore new opportunities outside of coaching.
I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together during my time with the Rams. We have overcome adversity, celebrated victories, and built a legacy that will endure for years to come. The memories we have created together will always hold a special place in my heart, and I will forever be grateful to have been a part of this incredible organization.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Les Snead, for your unwavering support and belief in me throughout my tenure with the Rams. Your leadership and guidance have been instrumental in our success, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside you.
I also want to thank the players, coaches, and staff who have been by my side every step of the way. Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence have been the driving force behind our success, and I am honored to have had the privilege of working with each and every one of you.
As I embark on this new chapter in my life, I do so with a sense of gratitude and optimism for the future. While I may be stepping away from coaching, I will always cherish the memories and experiences I have gained during my time with the Rams. I look forward to spending more time with my family, pursuing new interests, and exploring opportunities that will allow me to continue to grow and evolve as a person.
Thank you once again for the incredible journey we have shared together. I will always bleed blue and gold, and I will forever be a proud member of the Rams family. I wish the organization continued success in all its future endeavors, and I am confident that the best days are still ahead.
Sincerely,
Sean McVay
