The NRL wedding for Penrith and Bulldogs star Stephen Crichton that was so big it forced an international Test series to be DELAYED because so many players were in attendance
Superstar of the New Zealand rugby league Stephen Crichton wed his high school love in a fantasy wedding that included lots of laughing, tears, and dancing at a reception rich in Samoan customs.
In front of numerous NRL players, the three-time NRL premiership winner with the Penrith Panthers and current Canterbury Bulldogs star got married to Leone Seumanu Lauafia Crichton.
The international Test series between England and Samoa had to be postponed due to the large number of footy players in attendance, since many Toa Samoan representatives had already made travel arrangements for the wedding.
The two-game series was rescheduled for October 27 in order to allow players more time to get ready for the games and travel.
Along with Panthers players Jarome Luai, Scott Sorensen, Moses Leota, Izack Tago, and Sunia Turuva, to mention a few, Penrith coach Ivan Cleary attended the ceremony and reception.
Kurt Morrin and Harry Hayes were among the players sighted, as was Bulldogs coach Cameron Ciraldo.
Former Penrith star and Roosters prop Spencer Leniu was part of the bridal party, and Panthers winger Brian To’o served as the day’s best man.
