“£1-2 million would be a fair price” – Plymouth Argyle urged to consider Michael Obafemi, Burnley transfer
After starting each of the last two games in which he has been available, the striker is beginning to establish himself at the top of the forward hierarchy that Wayne Rooney has at his disposal.
The forward, who missed the trip to Turf Moor to play against his old team, has been a key player in his last two games against Rovers and Luton Town, and he appears to be another wise addition to the Argyle recruitment squad this summer.
Given his prospects of playing for the Clarets in the first team, we asked Chris, an Argyle supporter on Football League World, if the team would ever sign the forward on a long-term contract.
The attacker began the game on the left side of attack, and his center into Ryan Hardie allowed the Scot to set up Rami Al Hajj for the first goal. He also caused the Hatters a lot of trouble down the flank.
The Pilgrims have now won three in a row at Home Park after a well-taken opening goal against Rovers last time out. His first goal got him off to a strong start in green and further enhanced his reputation among the Green Army.
So far, the transfer to Devon has been successful for everyone, and Chris is thrilled with the Clarets loanee’s performance.
The Burnley loan signing of Michael Obafemi, according to the Argyle supporter commentator, was
Even though he has only scored one goal thus far—the opening goal against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday—he has proven to be a very competent and well-informed striker.
He is shown his versatility and his willingness to take on defenders when necessary.
Therefore, I think that signing him to a long-term contract would be a very good move for both of us if there was any interest from both him and Argyle.
“The club’s top priority is to acquire a striker with championship experience who also gives the team more energy.”
Additionally, for him, having Wayne Rooney as a tutor,
After a number of bright performances, there is no question that Obafemi has added that extra bit of Championship nous that Argyle have been calling out for in the final third of late.
Whether it is his positional play, his awareness to bring others into the game, or his goalscoring instinct when presented an opportunity, the 24-year-old is beginning to thrived both as the main striker, and in a wider position.
Considering that, there may be discussions on a permanent transfer, but Chris isn’t sure if the team could now afford such a fantastic attacker.
The Argyle supporter is uncertain if a deal could be finalized because the Greens have taken pleasure in not going over budget in recent seasons and the Clarets are expected to demand a high price for Obafemi.
“He has had a fair number of loan moves to different clubs so far,” he added. Taking everything into consideration, I think a price of one to two million pounds would be reasonable for him.
Burnley would probably not let him leave, though.
