Dallas Mavericks Point Guard Luka Dončić Slaps Coach Says He Is Being Cheated

Luka Doncic made NBA history on Saturday night when he recorded six straight 30-point triple-doubles. The Dallas Mavericks defeated the Detroit Pistons 142-124, taking advantage of a strong second half performance.

Doncic eclipsed Russell Westbrook’s record of five consecutive 30-point triple-doubles with a final game total of 39 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds. He added to his own record by scoring 35 points in five consecutive games with a triple-double.

Coach Jason Kidd of the Mavericks stated, “That just shows what level he’s playing on right now.” “He is aware that he can find his teammates, score the ball, and finally, recover the rebound.”

Dallas, which had lost its previous three games, has won two straight after Kyrie Irving scored 21 points.

Cade Cunningham scored thirty-three,

The Pistons, who have lost ten of twelve, have ten assists and nine rebounds. After Ausar Thompson exited the game due to illness, Simone Fontecchio struggled against Doncic despite scoring a career-high 27 points.

That undoubtedly made a difference, according to Fontecchio. “As I’ve said before, Thompson is an elite defender, so I had to watch out for him when he went out.”

Doncic scored 21 points in the second quarter to help the Mavericks lead 69-65 at the break.

Tim Hardaway Jr., a standout player for Michigan, made three 3-pointers in the final 2:16 of the third quarter, the last of which was a buzzer-beater. Doncic added ten more points in the third, and Dallas took a 104-88 lead.

“When (Hardaway) can enter the game and hit 3-pointers like that, it’s huge for us,” stated Kidd. “He had two opportunities to make a four-point play, in addition to making four.”

In the first minute of the fourth quarter, the Mavericks outscored Detroit 7-0, increasing their lead to 23 points.

The Pistons’ coach, Monty Williams, stated, “We just couldn’t score—we had seven turnovers in the third quarter—and no one played defense.” Both they and we didn’t.

Towards the end of the game, things got rough. Stanley Umude struck Hardaway in the head and was called for a flagrant four with 9:07 remaining. Then, with 7:03 remaining, on what would have been Doncic’s tenth assist, Gafford was hard- fouled by Jalen Duren when he was going to the basket. Gafford was on the ground when P.J. Washington gave Duren a little shove, to which Duren retaliated with an even more forceful shove that gathered all ten players in a scrum.
